Giant Panda Born at San Diego Zoo

Bai Yun, the Giant Panda at the San Diego Zoo gave birth this morning. Not twins as was hoped and thought possible, but one tiny baby. The sex is not known yet and won’t be until the zookeepers are able to see and handle the cub. There is a short video where you can see the cub. To see the video, click

When pandas are born they weigh about 1/900 of the weight of the mom. Amazing, isn’t it? They cub will not be shown in public for several months. I’ll keep you posted. As I mentioned in a post the other day, my friend and I will be going to see the cub when that happens. WOOT!
