I love to see photos of bear cubs playing. These photos of a couple of Spectacled Bears — Chaska and Bernardo at the National Zoo — have the typical whitish or cream “spectacles” ringing their eyes.

The light color of the rings around the eyes extends down to the throat and chest in a variety of ways, giving each individual bear a unique set of markings. Their coats are thick and usually either black or brown, and rarely with a reddish tinge.
