Knut’s human Dad dies

Thomas Doerflein, the Berlin zookeeper who hand-raised Knut after his mother abandoned him, was found dead in his apartment on Monday. An autopsy was done on Tuesday and concluded that he died from a heart attack.

Doerflein, 44 years old, gained worldwide attention as Cute Knut’s “Dad”. The bond between Knut and Doerflein was very close as every picture taken showed clearly.

Below is a picture array of knut’s first showing at the Berlin Zoo on March 23, 2007.

Sad news indeed. This wonderful and caring man will be missed.

Bear hugs, Frankie
