Bai Yun (by-yuhn), the giant panda at the San Diego Zoo, is pregnant. The 17 year old, mother of four, mated with Gao Gao (Gow-Gow) in April. Ultrsound tests done on Monday show Bai Yun is due next month and that there may be twins.

I’m absolutely thrilled. A friend and I made a pact last month that if a Giant Panda gave birth at the San Diego Zoo — the closest zoo to us with giant pandas — we would make a trip to see them. WOOT!

I’ll be taking a vacation in a couple of weeks and will spend 1 day at the San Diego Zoo. So, now it seems, I’ll be going back to see the new babes and get to see more of the animals. I’ll take lots of pictures to share with you.

Bear hugs, Frankie
